In the 1940's-50's, Carl Luthans' grocery store was on the corner of 10th Ave. so. & 4th St. in Clinton, Iowa. He had a son Fred and daughter Nancy who both attended Clinton High in the 1950's. My grandmother referred to him as "Cotty Luthans". I remember Mr. Luthans as a super nice man to us little kids who gave us each a wiener out of the case to eat on the way home.
