NIELAND & TEDERS family in Clayton Co.

In Dec. of 1853 the families of John Gerhard Nieland & Mary Teders both came to the US via New Orleans. In 1855 John married Mary in Cinncinnati, Ohio and they then came to Guttenberg, Clayton Co., Iowa to join the rest of John's family who had sailed on the same ship with them.

John was born in 1822 or 1823 in Lotten, Hanover to Gerhard Heinrich Nieland and Maria Catherina Albers. His siblings were Herman Nieland, Anna Maria Catherina Rapin (1st marraige) Heithoff (2nd marriage), and William Nieland. I am interested in information on any of the Nieland ancestors from Germany, and any of the descendent lines in the US.

Anna Maria Teders was born Aug. 25, 1827 in Hanover, Germany to Gerhard and Mary Teders. I believe "Mary" had a brother named Bernard, but I am not sure if he stayed in Ohio or may have come to Iowa. I am looking for any additional information on this family and their ancestors.

Thank you for your assistance.
