Hello Don--
I don't have information on your Russell, but I have Russell family in Monona Township in Clayton County in the mid 1800's. I have Laura Marie RUSSELL married to John Henry DAGEL in Hardin (now a ghost town on the Alamakee & Clayton County boarder in Monona Township) on July 23, 1867. I have her sisters as: Julia, Kate, Vi. I have her brother as: Fred. I believe that there were more children. Laura's parents were James Palmer RUSSELL and Laura RATHBURN. Are you still in the area? I hope someday to be able to search the records in Alamakee County.
