My Great Great grandfather, Wm (William) Thiese born April 1, 1835 in Hanover, Germany came to the U.S. A. in1865. He married twice, first wife died in child birth. He had a total of 17 Children. My grandfather was Ferdinand Thiese, who died in 1944 and my Father was Ferdinand Otto Thiese who died in 1999. All the Thiese people in my direct line back to Wm were farmers in Jefferson and/or Clayton township in Clayton County, Iowa. The major town then and still is Guttenberg, Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi River. We are of the Lutheran faith. My name is Alan F. E. Thiese. Please contact me if you so desire.
