Your post has been here a while so maybe you already have your answer, but I'll go ahead anyway in case this helps someone else. The Vital Records for the State of Iowa are centralized in Des Moines and you can request any record from 1880 on, when registration of births/deaths/marriages became required. The web site is http://www.idph.state.ia.us/pa/vr. It's the Iowa Dept of Public Health. There are instructions for requesting documents by mail and by phone. It's $10 per request whether the document is found or not.

The Chickasaw County Genealogical Society also has a great web site, and there's a new link for doing research, which now allows you to send email to the Little Brown Church with requests. They have some indices online and also some publications for sale.

Have fun and good luck!
