My Marriage Book is indexed by bride's name, so I scanned for grooms and didn't find any entries for Shortly or Twamley. I did find one Shortly bride:
SHORTLY, Mattie, m: MCFARLAND, O.N., 31 Aug 1876, Book 02-439
I didn't find either surname in the Cemeteries Book. I looked in my WPA Iowa Cemetery Records and found 4 Shortleys buried in Graceland Cemetery, Lot 186, New Hampton:
Julia E, 1840 - 3-8-1923
Margaret, 1845 - 1-4-1924
Robert, died 7-12-1881, age 63 years
Robert, 1869-1901
No Twamleys there.
