Seeking information on Joseph McDowell who married Margaret Beavers in 1871 in Grant Co. Wisc. First child, Charles Valentine was born in Grant Co. Wisc in 1873. Then in 1880 census located this family in Cerro Gordo Co. Iowa.
Other children were Emma, Jiley, Walter J. Elizabeth B. and Franklin J. - all born in Iowa.
In 1880 he was 30 yrs. old and he said he was born in PA and he said his father was born in Ireland and mother born in NY. Have tried to find him in the 1850 census, but may have been born after the census was taken. He died before death certificates were required, but do not know where, probably Iowa or Wisc.
Does anyone have any info on this man?
