Obituary: MRS. SUSAN [PORTER] LOGUE DIES Mrs. Susan Clarrisa Logue, 87, wife of the late Edwin Logue, died at 10 o'clock Tuesday night [June 1, 1965] at the Miller nursing home in Atlantic, where she had been a patient since September, 1963. Mrs. Logue was born May 6, 1878, on a farm in the Reno vicinity south of Cumberland [Iowa] and grew to womanhood there. She was married to Mr. Logue at the Cumberland Methodist parsonage Feb. 21, 1900. Mr. Logue died Feb. 25, 1939 and she had made her home since 1944 with her son, Jesse Ferroll Logue, helping to rear his children following their mother's death. Mrs. Logue joined the Reno Methodist church which was later consolidated with the Cumberland Methodist. She was the daughter of I.C. [Isiah Commadore Porter] and Esther MADDEN Porter. Surviving besides her son, Ferroll, are 19 grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. The remains are at the Roland funeral home in Atlantic [Iowa]. Funeral arrangements are pending. -- -- -- -- -- FUNERAL NOTICE Saturday, June 5, 1965 Logue Rites Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Logue were held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Harold A. Smith officiating. Mrs. James Mauk, accompanied by Mrs. Edward Ackerman, sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden." Mr. and Mrs. Frank Landon were in charge of flowers. Casket bearers were Claude Malone, Carl Anderson, Bub Harris, James Nichols, Clifford Way and Ralph Shepherd. Burial was in the Reno Methodist cemetery. [end] .
