William Fowlie died at his home in Center township last Thursday, September 19, at the age of 82 years and 29 days. Mr. Fowlie was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, August 20, 1819, and in 1857 he came to Canada and in 1860 to Illinois, from where he came to Iowa and settled in Benton County, and thence to Calhoun County in 1887. His wife and five children survive him and deeply mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. Mr. Fowlie will be greatly missed by many friends and neighbors, all of whom sincerely mourn his death. The funeral was held in the Center Congregational Church last Saturday morning, Rev. W.W. Tait, of Rockwell City Presbyterian Church, conducting the service, and the reamins were laid to rest in the Manson Cemtery.
