The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, May 30, 1907 JAMES SUMMERS, a former resident of this county, but for years past has lived in Calhoun County, died recently at the home of his daughter, MRS. WM. DRAKE, who sent the following memorial: "Yes, father is laid away to rest In the silent abode of the burial ground -- Away from pain and earthly cares. Yes, father is gone -- Gone over the river of death Into the silent land; Weary was the parting But we trust that bye and bye We shall meet again In a world where sorrows are unknown; Where everlasting spring abides To live forevermore -- Thus time doth make its mark Upon us all and writes the sad words 'Passing Away.'
