I am looking for a John C Schmidt b. 1834 that lived in Batavia, Kane Co, IL sometime around 1857. Then by the 1880 census he was living in Westbury Twp, Buchanan Co, IA. In the 1900 census he and his wife were living in Washington Twp, Independence City, Buchanan Co, IA. He married a Magdalena Thomspon b. 1840. They had seven kids: Louis Phillip b. 1858 (m. Mary Josephine Harp), Minnie B b. 1859 (m. Andrews), Josephine b. abt 1860 (m. Matheas), Rosa b. about 1866 (m. Fenner), Chistopher V b. 1869 (m. Mattie J McKiney), Lena b. 1873 (m. Fred Schanke), Arthur b. 1880 (m. Ida M). I have more info on the children and am willing to exchange info.
