Hi Janice: I found this in the Buchanan Co cem book
Oren Lewis b 11 May 1803, d 11 Apr 1884
and
Betsey b 1803? d 12 Jul 1843 wife of Oren age 40
and
Volney Lewis d 29 Aug 1852 age 22
Nancy Lewis b Sep 5 1820 (Concord,NY )d Jun 18 1901, wife of Oren died in Sioux City,Iowa
and
Mary Lewis d 10 Nov 1853 age 40 wife of Oren

1860 census Buchanan Co Liberty twp
Orin Lewis age 57 b NY
Nancy """"" age 39 b NY
Herritt """ age 22 b NY
Chas H """" age 20 b NY

On same page
Robert A lewis age 24 b NY
Mary A (Firman) Kewis age 18 b OH

His death might in found in the Buchanan Co Ct House, but very little information that early.
You might want to try thr Buchanan Co gen Soc.
