"Lyle Harris, a son of Doc. Harris, an inmate of the county poor farm, died at the infirmary there of consumption at 11:30 o' clock, Monday evening. The funeral services were held from the farm at 11:00 o'clock Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Mason of Boone, and the reamains laid away in the cemetery there beside his mother who died a short time ago." If anyone is interested in the whole obituary, I have scanned it and will send it to you if you would like it. Lyle's stone is the only one left in the Boone Co. Cemetery. There are no records of his mother or him indicating that they were buried there --- other than the newspaper articles and his stone. My GGG Grandfather died in the asylum fire of 1894. His name was Joseph Craig. If any descendants of the poor farm/asylum residents are looking for ancestors, please contact me. I would like to share information and talk with as many of you that there may be. Thank you. Rebecca Notify Administrator about this message?
