You are in luck, there is quite a bit of info on this man.
His broadax is on display in the house of history Corning, Iowa.
His biography is in the 1892 bios of Adams co.

An article appears in the 1984 hist of Adams county pg 482.
cem records would be in the WPA Iowa cem records.

briefly Calvin was born 3/9/1825 Danville Ohio d 12/10/1914
Margaret Smith was born 8/13/1833 Ohio d 8/18/1905 Floyd
