Hi Larry,
I was wondering if you could be related some how to our Buckley line.
My Great Grandmother Nell(ie) Evelyn Stormer married first husband Frank Eugene Chase, they had 5 sons, (1) Glen A Chase b. approx 1913, (2) Max E Chase-not sure if this is his true name but he is my Mother's Father b. Jan 23-25, 1915, (3) Earl Chase-could be first name or middle name Chase. (4) Horace-not sure first name or middle, Chase, (5) Oscar Franklin Chase.
Glen, Max and Oscar survived but Earl and Horace died in 1918 possibly Diptheria. They were born after 1915 and died 1918. they were most likely infants or toddle at least one of them.
Nellie their Mother was divorced from Frank prior or at the birth of their son Oscar Franklin Chase who was born 2/24/1920.
Nellie Evelyn Stormer-Chase married Floyd A? Buckley-Stone in 1928.
Floyd A? Buckley was born a Buckley but his Grandmother Mary Antoinette Stone Adopted him. His Parents were William Buckley and RoseBell Stone.
Floyd A Buckley went by the Surname Stone, this was not found out until after his funeral. Floyd was born 8-4-1892 Marne, Cass, IA and he died either 16-May,
1958 OR Tuesday 7-29-1958. He is buried most likely Oakwood Cemetery, Lewis, Cass, IA.
Floyd and Nell had two daughters born to this marriage; Neva Marie Stone born and died 1929 Cass County, IA. Also Mary Ruth Stone b. 6-4-1930 Cass County, IA she married Gail Tabor 5-10-1949, She died 4-14-1973 Auto Accident in CA.
I don't know why Grandma Stone adopted Floyd or what happened to his Mother Rosebell Stone Buckley or his Father William. Floyd had a sister but she didn't go by the Stone Surname so I don't think she was adopted by the Grandparents, can't recall her name off hand but the Sister I do believe she married a Brother of Floyd's wife Nelle Evelyn Stormer.
Cass and Adair County, IA are not too far apart. My Grandparents were from Adair County, IA on my Father's side, I was born in Cass, County, IA and my Mother's side which is Nell and Floyd were of Cass County, IA.
