Carol, my emails to you are not getting through. Thanks for the Hyslop tree, very useful. The info provided by my researcher was not as full, and now turns out to be clearly inaccurate with respect to William's parents. She relied on John Mackay's "Biography of Robert Burns" which says Ann Park was related to Wm Hyslop, through his mother. Mackay states that William's parents were John Hislop and Ann Park, which based on your information is clearly wrong.I found some other comments by Mackay, also wrong, so I am not surprised. The naming of William's children, satisfies me that you have it right. Can you let me know what was your source of information on Williams parents etc in case I want to follow up that line? Also have you come across anything on the afore mentioned John Hislop?
Thanks again, and maybe we can straighten out that email problem
David
