I'm looking for any info on the parents/siblings/children of Agnes Hyslop who married James McGregor in Glasgow, Scotland on Oct 26 1832. The IGI lists one son, John McGregor b. 2 Sep 1833, City Parish, Glasgow. I believe there may have been other children, possibly brothers James and Francis. Twins seems to be a frequent occurance, even to this day. I'm trying to establish a link between the above John McGregor listed in the IGI,born in 1833, and the end of our documented McGregors, John McGregor who married Jane Taylor on 31 Dec 1858 in Calton, Glasgow, Scotland. They used the name Hyslop as a middle name for two of their children, and named their only daughter Agnes. After some careful researsch, I believe these two Johns are the same person. And I'm stumped when I try to research beyond Agnes Hyslop. There must have been hundreds of Agnes Hyslops all over Scotland since the 1600's and I don't know where to begin. Maybe here someone will be able to get me going in the right direction. Thanks. B.Fisher
