Hi Gavin,
From time to time I do a little research on my wife Val's family, the Diapers on her mother's side who were a famous seafaring family in the Southampton UK area.

While checking on her great uncle, who was John Diaper a fireman and survivor, I came across the name Leo James Hyland in our paperwork and googled the name as a Titanic survivor.

This website came up and, although your message is ten years old, I am hoping this message reaches you.

My wife has very little information and indeed, the most information came from the encyclopaedia titanica including a picture.

Val's great Auntie Lot (Charlotte ?) married a Tom Hyland who was, we believe a brother to Leo's Father John Charles Hyland.

I will carry out some more research on the family and let you know what transpires but in the meantime, I would mention I have a photocopy of the picture drawn by Leo from the book "A Night to Remember" which was apparently the only then known drawing of the sinking.

I hope to hear from you soon.
