A love story from Ireland to Canada
Posted by: Robert Hyland - Québec Date: December 29, 1998 at 22:37:03
  of 578

According to the story I heard, about 7 generations ago, Patrick Hyland and Ann McKane (being of different social classes) took a boat to Canada to live their forbidden love affair... I suppose they arrived in Québec city and then settled in the country, near Sainte-Monique or Sainte-Brigitte-des-Saults.

I have traced the generations upward but it stops at them. Is there a good Web site where I could find the names of people who left Ireland for Québec between 1800 and 1850 ?

Thanks

Robert
