Dear Larry,
You, Kevin, and I are cousins.Kevin's info on the Holy Cross plot is for a different branch of the family then you are inquiring about. The name "John" is used repeatedly in different branches of the family.
I was to your home in New Hyde Park several times, but it was possibly before you were born.I rember your sister, Linda, and she will possibly remember me.The last time I met Linda was in 1959 for all of two minutes. She had stopped at my grandmother's house.
According to my records, the person you are inquiring about, John Hyland, was born 1870 and died 6/22/29.His wife, Catherine A. ____, was born 1875 and died 1/12/61.Your father was born during 1912, the same year as my father.
John A. Hyland is the son of James Hyland b. 1824 and d. 1894 and Mary ___ b. 1828 and died 6/16/03.
James was born in Ireland the son of John Hyland and Ann Mallady.
John and Ann had, in addition to James, sons John and Patrick and daughter Bridget.
Patrick and his wife Ellen Egan, both immigrated to the U.S., had sons John, James, and Frank and daughters Annie and Norah.
John is my grandfather and Frank is Kevin's grandfather.
Some years back I attempted to reconnect to your branch of the family without success.
Pleased to have seen your post.I shall look forward to hearing from you.
