Hi, I don't know if we are related or not, but I found your site interesting because not only are my mother's family members of the Hyland family of William and Ethel Hyland, but I live just down the road from Salmon Creek School, in Vancouver Washington!

My children went to that school and it was fun to see a picture of Salmon Creek in 1910!! It looks very different today, and they even have their own web site at It doesn't show much besides the building, though.

My Hyland Family came west from N. Dakota in about 1937 and eventually settled in Puyallup/Sumner Washington. Wm and Ethel are passed on now, but most of their children are still living.
