His father was James, his mother Mary O'Shaughnessy (O' sometimes dropped). He was born in Trafalgar twnshp, Ontario abt 1854-1855. He was the 3rd child and son, with two older brothers Thomas and Daniel P.: sisters were Mary E., Margaret Jane and Anna Philimena and younger brother Alphonsus Joseph Hyland.His parents and some of his siblings left Ontario in 1882 for N.W.T. (Saskatchewan) to homestead. He may have married and stayed in Ontario, or went to the U.S.A to homestead. Please if you feel you are a descendant or can help in any way reply.
