I have an Elizabeth Hite (spelled Hyde on the marriage record) that married John Bartholomew in Tuscarawas County, Ohio in 1842.Elizabeth (born ca. 1820) was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, the oldest child of Daniel Hite (1797-1872) and Catherine Ickes (ca. 1799-1874).She and John had three daughters (Lovina, Catherine, and Rebecca), all born in the 1840s.They were living in Wayne County, Ohio in 1850 and then moved on to Hancock County where John died in 1856.After John's death, Elizabeth returned to Tuscarawas County, but she later moved on to DeKalb County, Missouri where she died in 1880.I should also mention that prior to her marriage, she had an illegitimate son named Simon, born in 1839.Simon's baptismal record gave his name as Hite, but he was later known as Kail, perhaps the surname of his biological father. All of Elizabeth's children moved to Missouri with her.
