Hi Dale,
You mentioned a John Calvin Hyde. I am looking for my g... grandfathers one of whom might have been named Calvin. There was a long family tradition since the 1600's of naming the sons either Ariel Perry, John Sydney, or Calvin .....These were the names of crew members on a ship for one of my ggggg fathers. Here is the data I have available so far: Ariel Perry Hyde (no date but about mid 1840's) b. in Biddeford Saco, Main. He was a Christian Advent Missionary. He had 3 sons: Frank, Alvian and John Sydney. John Sydney was born in 1855 (or 1860) in Biddeford Saco, Main (York Co). Was a Sherrif of Monroe Co, Calif. He had a son (my grandfather, now deceased) named Ariel Perry Hyde, b. 1894 b. in White River Junction (or Hartford), VT, Windsor Co.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Lori Eldridge
