NEWFOUNDLAND HYDES & my Y2K project
Hi all,
I was born in Northern Bay, Conception Bay North, in 1936 and have been
researching my family tree for the past 25 years. I began with my direct
ancestors, the Mullalys and Howells. I've come to dead ends with both
families. Lawrence Mullally (born about 1795 in ???) married Anne Hinchey
(born about 1795 in Broad Cove or Northern Bay) in Harbour Grace in 1813
and settled in Northern Bay. Matthias Howell was born in Carbonear around
1795, was orphaned as a youngster and was raised by his uncle Oliver Penney
in Western Bay. Matthias Howell married Alice O'Reilly of Western Bay in
1838 and one of his sons, William Howell, married Bidget Hogan from
Northern Bay and settled there. My father is James (Jim) Mullaly and my
mother is Genevieve (Gen) (nee Howell).

In the process of my research, I've collected an extensive amount of data
(about 3000 names now) not only about these families but also the families
with which they intermarried and their decendants. And in the old days, for
obvious reasons, these were usually people in the immediate area of
Northern Bay - Grates Cove to Harbour Grace.

So I've broadened the scope of my research. I am now trying to include as
many Northern Bay area families as possible in my extended tree.

The purpose of this post is to solicit as much information as possible,
with a view to providing the information that I collect back to the people
who contribute. In many cases, they may not be aware of all of their links
with the other families.

If available, I would like, starting with the oldest person known in a
family: date of birth and place; date of death and place; marriage date and
place (if applicable); and the same information for spouses, siblings,
children, grandchildren, etc. Information on spouses' extended families is
also welcome to help interconnect families..

I will also record any additional information about a person such as
occupation, specific charistics or general notes.

If your data is recorded in a genealogy software package, a Family Tree
Maker or a GEDCOM file would be ideal. If not, I can provide forms to
simplify the process.

I will then incorporate all relevent information into my expanded tree and
will provide a computer generated family report to all those who respond to
this request.

I'd also appreciate you telling those folks who are not on these lists
