Hydes of Prince Edward Island
Looking for descendants and other information
of the family of Thomas Hyde b. Antrim Ire.,
d. c 1805.Thomas emmigrated to Prince Edward Island in 1770 with two sons and five daughters. One daughter remained in Ireland. Thomas became a member of the Third Island Legislative Assembly under Gov. Patterson
in July, 1779.

A branch of this family settled in Hyde's
Mills, Wi., much of the family has spread
across N.A., and the majority of the
remaining P.E.I. Hyde's are settled in the
Meadowbank area of P.E.I. near the original
homestead.Another branch of the family, that of Joseph Mitchell Hyde settled in Winnepeg, and was the forebearer of most of the Hyde's in Western Canada.
