I’m also trying to find more information about this after finding a letter written to my great, great, great grandma Cordelia Abigail Hyde Dorion Franks that mentions the Hyde Association.
So far all I’ve found is this article http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F70D15F73B5A127B93C2A8178AD95F4D8784F9http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F70D15F73B5A127B93C2A8178AD95F4D8784F9
I’m not sure exactly how or if my family connects to the ones mentioned in the article, all I know for sure about the Hydes in my family is that Cordelia’s parent’s were Henry John and Maria Reboul Hyde. Henry’s parents may have been Oliver and Catherine Hyde, but I haven’t been able to find anything definite about them.
I have two letters from a George C. Sells one of them I’ve typed up and will post here, the other one may take a while to get typed up as it’s badly faded and difficult to read and I just started working on typing copies of 11 letters written to my grandmother. As far as I know only two of them mention the Hyde estate. I’ll post the other letter once I get it typed up.
If you’re interested I can scan the original letters and send them to you. Would it be possible for you to send me scans of the letters you have?
The letter I have;

Mrs. Cordelia Franks,
La Rue, O.
Dear Cousin,
Will you please sign the inclosed order and return to me at once? Also sign the postal card and mail at same time.
We want to have a meeting of the Detroit Hyde Association at Detroit some time this month and I want to attend it with as many votes as possible. We want to elect new officers and push matters along much faster than they have been in the past. The outlook is much brighter and I think that we have a better chance than ever of getting something.
I struck a new clue the other day and if it comes out all right it will put us on top. I can explain it when I receive ansers to several letters that I have written.
Hoping to hear from you soon I remain you cousin
Geo C Sells
