Hello John,
There are now two Hyde DNA studies going. Many of us are at BOTH sites! One is Family Tree Maker DNA, the other is Ancestry.com DNA. If you just go to either one, there is a pretty simple order to follow. Search for the name or group named Hyde, [ obviously! ], then click on the tab that has view/ join. It will be pretty straight forward from there. Family Tree Maker tests 37 markers, and Ancestry tests 44 markers. Most of us recommend at least these many " markers". It will give you better results. There is quite a difference in cost, so you must be the judge as to which one to use. The Family Tree Maker is about $180.00 now, and the Ancestry was $79.oo . As I said, it is an economic choice. I went with FTM several years ago when it was $200.00! But, I then could just post my results to the Ancestry board. So far, it looks like about 3 distinct groups of Hydes are members. There are 5 of us who now know that we match, and we are starting to put together the how and where we join up.
Take care, be in touch.
Dan Hyde
