We are probably from same heirtage.Mine probably from NC to SC but have never traced them that far.I have hit a brick wall on them.I have no idea when they came to America or from where. They could have migrated from the north to the south.I started trying to locate all of your John's family to try to see if there could be a link. The Connecticut Hyde families---most all lines descend from William Hyde who came to Connecticut in the late 1600's.These are some of the families that put their families together. This William was from the Hyde family of England.
But it is the families of Edward Hyde that the money should have been distributed. He left no children I believe.
Oliver Cromwell's time was 1665.Queen Anne's 1665-1714. Doesn't help in establishing a line. I just would like to know exactly which family mine was. But do not believe this will ever happen since I have searched for over 25 years now.I do know there was a George from the families in Conn. in SC, and also an Alexander Hyde in GA. from the families in Conn.
