Looking for info Berkeley T Hyde born about March 1883 in Annapolis Maryland.He joined the Army in August 1903 and served with Troop D of the 4th Cavalry.On his enlistment in 1908, he switched over to the Signal Corps and was discharged from the Army in 1911 at College Park Maryland.In later life, he was a “county policeman” in Nassau County, New York.
On 2 March 1910, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Army Lieutenant Benjamin Foulois made the world’s first military flight in an heavier-than-air craft.On the ground, 1LT Foulois was supported by a small group of relatively unknown enlisted men who appear in the few pictures from the time around the event.The soldier listed above was one of these men.
