Born at Stratford 1 May 1668; Deacon John died 5 Nov. 1744 age 76 1/2 (rec. Greenfield) He renewed Covenant at Fairfield Church 3 Mar. 1695 and his wife Rachel was bapt. 2 April 1710. Will 25 Oct. 1744 proved 15 Nov 1744; sons John, Daniel, daus. Damaris Whitlock, Sarah widow of Jonathan Fanton, Elizabeth wife of John Bell, Hannah wife of Joseph Burr, Mary, Rachel, Abigail wife of Jonathan Malery. Son John, also Deacon married (1) 22 April 1718 Rachel Holmes who d. 30 Sept 1736 and m. (2) 22 March 1737 Abigail (Silliman) widow of David Adams.

Daniel Hyde went to Stratford. He and his wife, Deborah Perry are buried in Huntington Burying Place. Daniel Hyde was Lieutenant of the Ripton Parish Train Band (Militia) from Oct. 1750 to May 1752 and was Captain from May 1752 to Oct 1754. Ripton was a village in the northern part of the town of Stratford. In 1789 the parishes of Ripton and New Stratford were combined and named Hunington Township.

a Tailor; He came to the USA in the Planter in 1635 at the age of 22 with his wife Ann. Known as Richard of Stratford. Mary, wife of Thomas Jeffery had land at Stratford by gift of her father Richard Harvey, 1676. In 1686, calling himself 'of Stratford, now resident in Fairfield, he conveyed to son-in-law John Hide/Hyde of Fairfield; deed witnessed by Richard's brother Dr. Josiah Harvey and John Burr. Inv. Nov 1689 John Hide represented in court 25 Dec. 1705 that considerable was due from Harvey's estate to his dec'd father John Hide, and was granted adm'n.

10. Laurence HYDE[1] was born on Abt. 1562 in West Hatch, Wiltshire.England. He was the son of 20. Laurence HYDE and 21. Anne Sibell. He died on 1643 in Salisbury Cathedral. He married Barbara Castilian.
Notes for Laurence HYDE:
Educated at Oxford and a barrister of the Middle Temple. Laurence acquired a large practice as a lawyer and became Attorney General to Queen Anne of Denmark, the consort of James 1. He was the Uncle of Edward Hyde, Earl of Clarendon. The house that Laurence grew up in is now a national trust house, left to Magdelen College, Oxford. Laurence had a house in the close of Salisbury Cathedral which stood between the Deanery and the King's house. He also purchased the manor of Heale in the parish of Woodford. On the death of his brother Henry he received the Hyde House and the Rectory at Dinton. He and his wife are buried in the Salisbury Cathedral.
