John Hyde and Mary Frost/Canada
John Hyde, whom identified himself as being born in Quebec about 1805 and of Scottish descent in Census data, married Mary Frost (b: 1806 Sheldon, Kentisbeare Parish, Devonshire England) in Bytown in October 1833.They obtained a marriage bond on October 9th 1833 that is reference in the Archives of Canada website - which I have obtained.John's parents are undetermined at this time.Mary's parents are John Frost and Elizabeth Chic also of Kentisbeare Devonshire England that immigrated to Canada around 1818 and settled in Bytown once it was established. There is considerable information available for the Frost family.
After marriage John and Mary aquired land on Lot 18 Conc 5 Cumberland Twp (Russel Co) approximately 1834 and attempted to make a living as farmers. The following children where born there (note this family was Wesleyan Methodist and birth registration information is available on line for some of those listed with full dates):
Jane (b ~1836) married William Dudley - settled in Masham Twp Que
William (b ~1839) married Ann Smyth - settled in Masham Twp Que
Caroline (b Aug 16, 1839) married Andrew Davidson - settled in Templeton West, Ottawa Co, Que
John (b ~ 1842) married Annie Drummond - Masham Twp Que
James Edward (b December 20, 1843) married Alice Ann Burke - Hull Que
Mary Elizabeth (May)(b Sept 17, 1845) married ThomasBaxter - moved to Toledo Ohio USA
Charles (b ~ 1846) married Margery Wells - moved to Spring Lake Michigan USA
Martha Ann (b June 10, 1847) married John C Bond - settled in Owen Sound
Harriett (b February 28 1851) married John Dunlop - settled in Bytown/Ottawa Ontario
On or around 1849 this family lost or sold the farm and Harriett is listed as born in Ottawa County. In the Bytown and Bust web site it is discussed how - after the boom of building the Rideau Canal which brought great prosperity to the area - a depression - between 1844 and 1848 - was experience which was particularly devastating to outlining farmers as there was no longer any market for their goods and it is expected that forclosure was more likely the reason they left than a land sale. There appears to be no surviving record of this family in the 1852 Census. The next record available is the marriage of Jane to William Dudley in Wakefield Quebec in 1853 and subsequent family marriages at the same location. In 1871 John and Mary are living Masham Township Quebec and in 1881 John is living with Kingsbury's in Wakefield - identified as a Labourer and Mary does not appear anywhere. No death records can be found and no subsequent Census data is available for either of them.
There is additional information available for each of the children's families.
I would be interested in follow ups from any decendants that can fill in any more of the family details and I am happy to provide additional details for any part of this family that is of interest to anyone.

PS - I decend through Jane/William Dudley
