John Hyde is my g-g-g-g-g-grandfather. My gradfather (Joseph Elbert Hyde) recently gave gave me all the research he had done regarding our family. The information I have is: John Hyde Sr. (b. 1746, Macklenburg) had three sons, William, Bejamin Wesley Sr., and John Jr. I do not have any information on their mother(s). According to the 1790 United States census of Lincoln County, Morgan District, North Carolina John Hyde and three son's are listed with no mention of a wife. My line is traced through Benjamin WesleySr. who married Elizabeth Leatherwood (Cherokee Tribe) in 1803 in N. C. I have record of 12 children. I would greatly appreciate any information on John Hyde. And I would happily offer any information I have on the Hyde family tree. My grandfather has spent nearly 15 years in genealogical research.
