1 Richard (The Immigrant) Hide/Hyde b. 1610/11, probably England
There are three (3) immigration records for Richard Hide/Hyde to Virginia in this time frame. It now appears, based on Hikaru's email, that #1 and #3 are the same person. It remains to be seen if #2 is related.
1) Hide, Richard, (age) 24, Virginia, 1635,1635, 9151, p105 1
August 21, 1635, to be embarked on the George for Virginia: Richard Hide, age 24
2) Hide, Richard, (age) 24, Virginia, 1635,3283, p125 1
"Subject, Richard Hide, Citizen & Free Mason, of London; Symon Hide, Citizen & Free Mason, of London, one of the sons of the said Richard Hide.
Whereas, John Hide, one other sonne of your Subject, Richard, was about two years since by ill persuasion & advice of one George Brown, Citizen & Poulterer, of London, & others being drawne & persuaded to depart this Kingdome & goe beyond the Seas to Virginia.
Dispute about payment for boots & shoes.
Deft, George Browne.
The answer speaks of the good ship Abraham, of London, of which John Barker was master & that he sailed to Virginia 17 Oct, 1635." From" The Virginia Magazine"; : Hide v. Browne)
3) Hyde, Richard, no age, Virginia, 1638,2772, p174 1
Hyde, Richard, 1638, By Edward Minter, James City Co. 2
Still trying to find documentation to prove which of these 3 Richards is the ancestor of the line below. Per Hikaru's email, they may all be the same person who immigrated about 1635 at the age of 24.
