John Thomas Hydes, West Virginia
Hello, all.I am looking for information on a John Thomas Hydes, born in Rotherham, England around 1850, give or take a few years. He married a woman named Elizabeth Ann, and I am also looking for information about her. They had at least two children, namely Elizabeth and Emily. The family immigrated to the United States in 1907, settling in West Virginia, where John Thomas worked as a coal miner.Daughter Elizabeth married Thomas Ball before 1910, and you guessed it, I am also looking for any and all information about him.I know that he was also from England, and also a coal miner, and that is about it.Apparently, John Thomas and wife were deported around 1921, and sent back to England. He tried again to gain entry to the United States in 1923 and I am not clear on whether he actually made it back in or not.He was going to be living with his daughter Elizabeth and her husband Thomas in Elcombe, Kentucky, which I believe to actually be Elkhorn or Elkhorn City, Kentucky. He is not listed in the 1930 census, and I cannot find Elizabeth and Thomas Ball either.
Elizabeth and Thomas had a daughter named Hannah Elizabeth Ball who was born in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1914.
If anyone has information regarding this family, please let me know.I am working on this for a dear sweet friend and she is desperately seeking information on her mother's family.
