I have a Donald Burkett Hyde in my family tree. My informationappears to coincide with most of yours. I have a James M. Hyde (who married an Isabelle Hayes and whose grandson is a Donald B. Hyde) as the brother of a George Hyde, born 2/1/1837 in Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England. I am a direct descendent of George Hyde (he would be my great-great grandfather) and my family has been living in Pawtucket, RI for the past 3 generations. While I have no guarantee of the accuracy of my information, I have a William Hyde (b. 4/23/1804 d. 11/22/1869) as the father of James, George and William. I only have the first initial of William's wife, A.
Despite that difference, I think we are referring to the same James Hyde and Isabelle Hyde. According to my records, their son, James M. Hyde married a Mary E. Burkett and had a son Donald B. Hyde and while I only knew Donald's middle name began with a "B," it does make sense that it would be Burkett since that was his mother's maiden name. I will have to look further into my family records to find the original source of the following but the last place I have Donald living in is Kennebunk, Maine. I have his full title as: SMS Donald B. Hyde USAF and hence I assume he has/had been a member of the U.S. Air Force. Hopefully that information is helpful.
I would love to trade our Hyde family histories. I will periodically check-up on this forum and you are welcome to e-mail me as well.
Good Luck,
Holly Hyde
