White Streak (forelock) genetic marker
My line is characterized by a premature (before age 30) white streak in the forelock (middle or left of where bangs would be located especially on women). The trait skips generations:neither my father nor my grandmother had it.However, I have it as did my uncle (father's brother) and their grandmother (their mother's grandmother, my grandmother's mother [Nancy Jane Dugger]).
Because another Dugger line also carries the gene, I have been able to trace it back to the Scarboroughs around 1666-1690 in Isle of Wight and Surry Co., VA.I'm trying to determine if one of the families affiliated with the Scarboroughs in deeds, wills, and other activities might be the link I am looking for.
The paper trail says that William Scarborough b. c 1630 married Naomi Davis (aka Amy Holdsworth).Descendants of his son, Edward Scarborough who married Ann (unknown), also carry the genetic marker.
So I'm asking if anyone in the following lines carries this genetic marker:
Davis (it might be through Naomi Davis)
Collier
Rawlings
Jordan
Sowerby
Lewis
Lee
Hyde
Barefoot
Cocke
Tyus
These families were mentioned on deeds and wills in which the Scarboroughs or Duggers were also mentioned.
Does anyone here have this marker?
