Lois, In the Descendants of William Hyde by Ruben H. Walworth, Mary Hart Hyde was b.21 May 1796 at Norwich CT m. Horace Colton. She was the d/o Abial Hyde and (2) Mary Leffingwell of Norwich m. on 18 June 1795. Abial was b.16 Oct 1757 and d. 2 March 1808. She survived him and d.1 Oct1822.
Abial was the 4th son of James Hyde and Sarah Marshell of Norwich. James b. Norwich 28 feb 1707, the 3rd son of John Hyde and Experience Able He was a shipsmaster and d.24 April 1793 Sarsh b. 12 April 1720 at Norwich and d.3 Nov 1773. Bothburied in the old cemeteryat Norwich Town.
John Hyde b.at Norwich Dec.1667 the 2nd son of Samuel Hyde and Jane Lee. He m. 3 March 1698 Experience Able b. Norwich Dec 1674. Theres more, John was s/o Samuel and Jane Lee and Samuel was the s/o William Hyde, who come from England abt 1633. William Hyde was one of the founders of Hartford CT and in 1659 he and his son Samuel were 2 of the 35 merchants that bought land from the Indians and started Norwich CT where he died.
William-Samuel-John and Matthew in my line were all buried in the Old Cemetery in Norwich Town along with many more Hydes and their families. If you can find a copy of The Descendants of William Hyde by Walworth it is two volumes and covers the descendants of all the female as wellas all the males from 1633 up to the 1850's.
