The most excitement at present with us is the election of City Officers. Young men say "tis time we are learning we are qualified" and the older ones say "time enough when we are gone, go and sell out people's trumpery and oil your narness as is your present occupation." We further add the circulating of the petition for a new postmaster -- is at present in the air but your unworthy correspondent thinks let good enough alone. The Leader always gets her items sent to her in time and that alone speaks well enough for W.A.
Last week's paper chronicled the serious illness of MRS. MOLLIE MCGILL of Great Bend, Kas. We regret to note this esteemed lady passed away Monday morning at 4 o'clock. MRS. MCGILL will be remembered as MISS MOLLIE HENRY, formerly of this place. Her mother and sister, MATTIE, of Derby were with her during her last days. She paid her relatives and friends here a visit only a few weeks ago in perfect health but was stricken with lung fever and inflammatory rheumatism and died as above mentioned. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents, brothers, sisters, husband and son.
