my info, is very scarce.
What little I do know I have gathered from the Cambridge, Ohio Courthouse. I also have recieved some from a source on here, I will gather it all together, to post for you.
The thing that jumps out at me is the William Hyde {1563-1640} The names of William and Samuel are oft repeated names in my Dad's family.
I was able to trace like I said in Cambridge, Ohio Thomas Hyde. It was from a newspaper obit, that listed a William Hyde.
I had been researching my Grandmother, Martha Hyde at 1st, because I new that she had come from a small place here in Ohio called Londonderry. This was in Guernsey Co. Cambridge. It listed her birth, her Father John Calvin Hyde,
whos Father was listed as Andrew, and from there I started looking for info on Andrew. I came across a William Hyde born near Middletown, Wash. Co. Pa. In 1799, Son of Thomas And Catherine { Walker } Hyde. Thomas of Welsh decent and Catherine of German, I started looking for more info on Thomas, and found he had a son named Andrew, and Andrew listed one of his children John Calvin, and John Calvin listed a daughter Martha Lucretia, and this was my Grandmother. However all info stopped with Thomas. This is how I knew of the Welsh descent.
What caught my eye with your post was the claim of royalty.
Dad never talked much about either side of his family except a few things here and there, and I gleaned what I could through the years. One of the things was about royalty. My Father to his dying day, said we were from England, not Wales, he said something one time about Hyde Park in England was at one time in the family. I could dismiss the info I found though, in Cambridge. How many Martha Lucretia's with a direct line like that and born on the same day as she was, not be his bloodline.
I hope I haven't rambled on to long.
