Mary Hide Cotton had two surviving daughters by her first husband, Richard Hide. The first of these two daughters married a certain John Smith and, likewise, had two daughters, the second being named Mary who married a Cotton like her grandmother, but left no known female line descendants. I do not know if the first of the two Smith granddaughters lived to marry and have children or not. Mary Hide Cotton's youngest surviving child was Jane Hide who married Thomas Cotton, the nephew of Thomas Cotton, Mary Hide Cotton's second husband, also named Thomas Cotton. Jane Hide Cotton married a John Crosslin and had descendants, but what number of these, if any, are in the female line, I don't know. If you are interested in dna genealogy to help work out the problems we are both facing, I would be glad to cooperate within the restraints of a very occupied schedule.
