Dear Mr. Hyde,
I am familiar with a Hyde family that resided in Wayne County New York around 1800.Specifically a Henry Hyde owned property around Mud Creek outside of Palmyra.I know that he was still alive in 1820 when he wrote a letter to the government on behalf of my ancestor Jehiel Franklin.I also know that a son of his Samuel migrated first to Vigo county Indiana about 1823 and later to Champaign County Illinois.I believe that there is a Hydeville in Wayne County New York which took its name from a tavern proprietor, but I do not know whether this is the same family.
