There was a Newman Hyde resident of Manchester. He was a Sworn Juror 28 Aug 1773 through to 2 May 1781. His district was Shude Hill, Within Grove, Toad Lane & Fennel St. These are in the centre of early Manchester town. In 1801 Newman Hyde was a Tallow Chandler & had a shop.
this info can be found in the Court Leet Records vol. V111 & 1X.
It would be logical to assume that he may be the Newman who married Mary Wroe 29 Dec 1775 in Manchester Cathedral.
There are a few more refs. to this Newman also in the Court Leet Records. Hope this may help.
