I have Samuel's father as William born abt. 1606, England and died 6 Jan 1681 Norwich, New London County, Connecticut. It is my understanding he was the immigrant ancestor and progenitor of the Hyde’s in America. It could be we are looking at different Samuel's. The following may be of use.
756. William12 HYDE (William13, Robert14, Robert15, Hamnet16, Robert17, Thomas18, Hamon (Hamnet)19, John de20, Robert21, Robert22, John de23, John24, John25, Robert de26, Mathew de27)(972). He was born in England circa 1606. William died January 6, 1681/1682 in Norwich, New London, CT, at age unknown.(973)
He married Mary (UNKNOWN).(974)
William immigrated to 1633. He was a follower of the Rev. Hooker, and followed Hooker to Connecticut, where he was a founder of Hartford (his name appears on the founder's monument in the old cemetary at Gold and Main Streets). Some sources have said that William was a cousin (unspecified degree) of Ann Hyde, the wife of James II of England while he was Duke of York. Ann was the mother of Queens Ann and Mary of England. He was chosen surveyor of Highways in Hartford, 1641. He moved to Saybrook, then to Norwich in about 1660.
William HYDE and Mary (UNKNOWN) had the following children:
559 i. Hester11 HYDE was born circa 1631.
757 ii. Samuel HYDE(975) was born on (birth date unknown). He married Jane LEE.(976) Jane(977) was the daughter of Thomas LEE. Jane died January 21, 1723/1724 in Lebanon, New London Co, Connecticut, at age unknown.
