HYDEs - English roots?
When trying to obtain evidence that your ancestors stem directly from the UK of GB please provided your English counter-part with at least one name and date plus location of the ancestor in order that your ancestor can be traced.
The problem is that notall Hydes came from England. MAny anglocised their names to something similar (Hyde in Ireland was a leather worker, but in England they originated from the PLACE of Hyde).
I am currently assisting many Americans who are seeking to establish their English roots, but many prove to be of Irish origin, and why not?
I suggest this merely to avoid disappointment by our colonial cousins when their 'roots' cannot be firmly established.
Best wishes in all your undertakings.
Robert Hyde
