I saw some interesting connections to my family line in your message. My g-g-grandmother was Mary Hyde born 1840 daughter of either Abel Hyde b. 1799 and Philena ?maiden name Hyde born 1810 in Vt. OR to Wolcott Hyde b. 1802 and wife Laura born 1805 in Vt. They are all buried in a cemetary near my home in St. Lawrence County NY. Their daughter Mary married George Finley and had children Andrew, Robert, Albert, Mary, Dennis Alsexander, Catherine, Hermon etc. They are all mixed together so I questions which ones were siblings and which were 1st cousins. Mary Hyde I mentioned who married George Finley had the following children: Cleora (Laura)..my great grandmother who married Jacob Raven; Mary, Xury (male); George Jr.; Minnie; and Sheryl (male).
Able is listed as both Abel and Able depending on which list you look at in the area.
We are located on the Canadian border and this entire area around me has many lines I am researching. Repeated pattern of post Rev. War settlement from Canada or New England states. Lots of connections to Saratoga NY area and to Vermont.
Other surnames this family married into in this area are Graves, Fishbeck, Day, Raven, Finley (Findlay) and Charter. Any links?
