HYDE family-newspaper article 2-26-1853
Came across this while hunting for another newspaper article..thought it might be an interesting tidbit of information to some of those researching HYDE family name..Found in the 2-26-1853 edition of the Zanesville (OH) City Times which is on Microfilm at the John McIntire (Muskingum County) Library. Article reads as follows:
"Meeting of the HYDE family.About 300 persons bearing the name of HYDE met in Boston on Monday, and appointed a committee to make collections to pay a lawyer to go to England to see about some seven millions of dollars lying in the Bank of England, awaiting claimants from among the great family of HYDES.HYDE stock is rising."
The article jumped out at me as I have some interest in the HYDE name as my family of WHYDE's may originally have been HYDE.Might be really interesting to find out what a Boston newspaper might have said about this meeting........debbie...([email protected])
