I don't know of any connection between these two families.The Daniel I referred to was actually a Hite rather than a Hyde.The marriage record of his daughter Elizabeth is the only instance of the "Hyde" spelling for anyone in his family that I know of.I do know, however, that the German "Heyd" or "Heid" (also Heydt or Heidt) could evolve into Hite or Hyde.The "d" and "t" sounds are much more similar in German than they are in English.I doubt, however, that they same crossover occurred among Hyde and Hight families of English descent.My Hites were German.Do you know the ethnic origin of your Hydes?
