No, Daniel Hite was a son of Christopher Hite and his wife Margaret.His birthdate comes from his tombstone, which fits with the age given for him in two census records (1850 and 1870).Actually, the spelling "Hyde" on his daughter Elizabeth's marriage record is the only instance I have seen of this family's name being spelled as Hyde.In all other records I have seen, it is Hite or something else with a "t" rather than a "d".I have a complete list of Daniel's siblings and he did not have a brother named Benjamin.
