Ken, what branch of the Hydes is that? Our branch of the Hydes can be reliably traced to Jonathon and Samuel Hyde who emmigrated to New England in 1639. These brothers were dissenters, and a lot of people with whom they were associated (including Thomas Hooker)were dissenters from Essex. However, I have never been able to make a connection. (The link into the the stuff going back to the crusaders doesn't count for me. It looks suspicious.)
